Appearance: Kimblee is of average height, not short nor tall. His strong soldier's figure has been drained of its strength due to the years in prison, leaving him lanky. His skin is pale, also for the years spend in the darkness of the cell. His hair is black, cut short from the head but he's left a long ponytail at the back, which he’s usually wrapped a lace around to keep it from getting in the way. His eyes are yellow like the desert sand. A distinctive feature of his are the transmutation circles tattooed on his palms.
When Kimblee came in Econtra he was wearing the Amestris’ State Military uniform. A short cut long sleeved jacket and pants of deep blue color and silver trim and boots. When he’s not in his uniform he is usually wearing a crimson suit, the jacket unbuttoned and a black sleeves army shirt under it.
Personality: Kimblee is what the society classifies as a sociopath. If you ask him, though, there’s nothing wrong with him but with the society around him. He’s a cold-blooded killer, willing to kill just for the fun and unable to feel remorse.
He feels that all human lives – including his own – are worthless. Because of this view Kimblee regards others as nothing but tools to get what he wants or obstacles to be removed. Just like he is ready to betray anyone whenever it suits him he expects the same of others and so doesn’t trust anyone. He’s paranoid and suspicious of others even if he doesn’t always display it. He also feels that no one can see the world the way he does and this along with his distrust towards others makes him a sort of an isolated and lonely character, however he doesn’t consider himself as one. He thinks he’s above the normal humans who can’t understand the futility of it all.
Like every sociopath, Kimblee too is able to be very suave and charming if he feels like bothering to. He’s manipulative and cunning and has no problem lying coolly and easily. However also his emotions are shallow, when he shows emotions such as warmth, joy, love or compassion it’s most likely feigned. Only true pleasure he feels is when he can blow something up.
Kimblee also doesn’t take to boredom well, he likes to live on the edge and often tends to act impulsively.
Abilities/Strengths: Alchemy, specifically creating explosives.
Kimblee is able to create explosive fluids from the sulphur in human body, causing the person to explode from the inside, in other words, turning him into a living bomb. He can also create bombs from inanimate object by transforming the elements in them into a substance that reacts explosively with oxygen.
Weapons: Kimblee's hands are his weapons, he doesn't feel the need to carry any additional arms even though he’s been trained to use the standard issue firearms in the army.
Weaknesses: Kimblee doesn't give a damn and that is a bad thing, especially when it comes to being a soldier. He’s not willing to play by any rules but his own if it’s not advantageous to him and he shows no respect to rank which often gets him in trouble with his superiors.
History: Kimblee always saw the world differently than the other. As a child and as a youth he was always an outcast, but he didn’t mind. It didn’t matter. And none of that matters really; Kimblee was nobody until he learned to make fireworks via alchemy.
He was never interested in other forms of alchemy, making bombs was his thing. His skill is an integral part of who he is, ‘the mad bomber’, as some of those who don’t understand started calling him. Kimblee joined the Amestris State Military just to get to test his abilities on the field.
During the Ishbal war Kimblee held the rank of a Major. Drunk on the power of the Incomplete Philospher’s stone issued to him by the military, Kimblee went overboard and killed and tortured civilians and even his own comrades along with enemies, just to hear the sound of explosions. At the end of the war Kimblee was robbed of his rank, accused a war criminal and sent to the prison, sentenced to death. He didn't think the sentence was justified, he felt betrayed by the army.
The death sentence was never put into action. A lucky coincidence made him one of the prisoners the Homunculi intended to use to make the Philosophers stone. Kimblee took advantage of the opportunity and exploded his way to freedom. After this he joined the party of a Homunculus called Greed briefly, just to betray Greed when the opportunity to rejoin the ranks of the Army arose. Frank Archer who saw the potential in him re-enlisted him, pardoned his crimes and promoted him to a Lieutnant Colonel. Kimblee was happy to rejoin the army for it gave him a chance to make "fireworks" again.
Shortly after being re-enlisted Kimblee faced his old enemy, Scar, an Ishibalan he had tortured in the war. At the end of their fight Kimblee was about to die but his luck kicked in once more and he was drawn into the world of Econtra just in time.
